About This Place

Nestled along the bustling El Camino Real in San Bruno, Mariscos El Pariente is a standout Mexican restaurant specializing in vibrant, fresh seafood that captures the true essence of coastal Mexico. This casual eatery, housed in a taco truck setting, offers an authentic taste adventure that seafood lovers simply can’t miss.

What makes Mariscos El Pariente truly special is its masterful approach to traditional dishes like the Tacos Dorados—crispy, golden-fried shrimp tacos that are delightfully savory with just the right hint of shrimp sweetness and a satisfying crunch that rivals the best fried dim sum flavors. Priced now at $14 for a plate of four, these tacos remain a Bay Area treasure, drawing loyal locals back time and time again. The accompanying chili de árbol salsa perfectly balances heat and zest, deepening the flavor experience.

Beyond the Tacos Dorados, the menu bursts with exciting options: the Shrimp Cocktail and the Coctel Súper Campechana are brimming with fresh shrimp, octopus, and crab, enlivened by bright citrus and a touch of heat. For those craving variety, the Tostada de Salpicon delivers a harmonious medley of ceviche—tilapia, shrimp, and pulpo mixed with creamy avocado and piquant sauces, creating layers of refreshing yet bold flavor with every bite. The Tostada de Aguachile fires up the palate with its tangy lime-cured shrimp, red onions, Serrano and habanero chilies, and avocado, offering a perfect blend of heat and citrus brightness.

The atmosphere at Mariscos El Pariente is friendly and inviting, with customer reviews frequently highlighting the warm service and reasonable pricing. Despite being a food truck, the generous portion sizes and exquisite taste make it feel like a proper sit-down meal with a casual vibe—perfect for those spontaneous cravings or when looking for a quick yet satisfying bite. Many patrons mention the steady line as a testament to the quality and consistency of their seafood offerings.

From the moment you take your first bite of the Taco de Camaron or savor the fresh zing of the Tostada de Ceviche, you’ll understand why visitors—from random passersby to dedicated seafood aficionados—rate Mariscos El Pariente so highly. It’s more than a taco truck; it’s a destination where lively flavors, meticulously prepared seafood, and heartfelt service come together to deliver an unforgettable dining experience.

Been coming here since the Tacos Dorados was $8. Now at $14, the tacos are still delicious and some of the best you’ll find in the Bay Area for this style. The flavors remind me so much of fried dim sum. Savory, shrimpy and crispy. The chili de arbo salsa compliments it to a tee.

Friendly food truck that does more than justice to fresh seafood ceviche on tostada. The aguachile and salpicon were ridiculously good. Very friendly service and reasonable prices too. Will return back for more.

The food is here great! Big portions and pretty inexpensive, especially for seafood. There is always a line, which is a good sign.

Arrived by car 30 minutes before closing. We had a parking spot right in front of the taco truck on the street. I found this place searching Google seafood restaurants near me! It was to my surprise that it was a taco truck! No worries, we ordered the tacos dorados. They come in a plate of four for $14. They had avocado and the best tasting shrimp combined with the crunch of the taco shell! So good. Came with red salsa that turned up the heat. The tacos were like the kind of food that you keep eating even though you are full!! I felt great after four, but honestly could have had another four! There are plastic chairs to sit down, but it's way better to take the food to go. I'm glad Google suggested this place, perhaps it was the best seafood near me!

I'm so happy to have found a place for bomb fish tacos that won't break the bank. I was definitely skeptical on eating seafood from a food truck but decided to take the risk after reading the great reviews for this truck. It was located alone on el camino and actually had a small crowd at around 2pm. There is a bench located in front of the truck. We ordered 2 fish tacos each and 1 order of the shrimp tacos to share (4 shrimp tacos in an order). There were churros on the ledge that looked good, but we weren't sure how long they had been sitting there. They also had flan and other drinks in the front of the truck. We noticed everyone with the coctels and the tostadas looked really appetizing. The food came out super quick and we went to eat in our car since it was a bit crowded. We both loved the fish tacos. The fish was freshly fried and the sauces really complimented the taco. It also came with avocado for free! The shrimp was worth trying and I was definitely impressed that they gave a slice of avocado with each taco. The shrimp wasn't as flavorful as I had hoped, but the spicy sauce went well with it. I was so impressed by this food truck. The food quality is great and it's super cheap!! Definitely a new go-to spot for fish tacos.
